Ingredients

0/8 ready
  • 1 packet instant ramen noodles
  • 1 tablespoon white or yellow miso paste
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Sliced green onions (optional)
  • Sesame seeds (optional)

The Story & Steps

This recipe turns the humble instant ramen into something that tastes like it came from a trendy fusion restaurant. The miso adds depth, the butter brings silky richness, and the egg transforms it into a complete meal.

Preparation

  1. Boil water in your electric kettle or microwave a mug of water for 3 minutes until very hot.
  2. Place the ramen noodles in your eating mug and pour the hot water over them until just covered. Set the seasoning packet aside (you won't need it).
  3. Microwave the noodles and water for 2 minutes. Carefully remove and stir.
  4. Add the miso paste, butter, soy sauce, and garlic powder. Stir vigorously until the miso dissolves and the butter melts into the broth.
  5. Crack the egg directly into the center of the mug. Use a fork to gently swirl it into the hot broth, creating ribbons.
  6. Microwave for 45 seconds to 1 minute until the egg is cooked to your preference.
  7. Top with green onions and sesame seeds if available. Let cool for a minute before eating.

The magic is in the miso-butter emulsion that coats each noodle with savory goodness.
